 | Clinical Hypnosis Hypnosis employs a naturally occurring state of mind and it may surprise many to learn that we all experience trance states often during our life, even several times during each day. The hypnotic state normally occurs in everyone when certain physiological and psychological conditions are met and with the assistance of a skilled hypnotherapist it is possible to use this state to make deep and long-lasting changes to thoughts, feelings or behaviours. |
How it Works and where it can be useful Clinical hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to treat a variety of medical and psychological problems. It does not usually deal with problems that have an organic origin but rather those that are due to emotional or psychological sources. It is estimated that 85% of people will readily respond to clinical hypnotherapy. When carried out by a professionally trained and skilled hypnotherapist, the benefits are usually long lasting and often permanent.Hypnotherapy is accepted to benefit the following; stopping smokingweight controlsports performanceexam nervesself-confidencephobiassleep problemspanic attacksIBSpain control and many more. |
At the beginning of a session the therapist and yourself will chat for a while about the problem and other thing in general to allow the therapist and client to get to know each other. You will be asked to make yourself comfortable and soon you will drift off into a a very relaxed state where you are aware of everything going on, you can hear everything, you are not asleep, and you are in control of the session and could stop it at any time but are too relaxed to do so.
Sessions normally last an hour however the number of sessions required does vary however at the end of the first session it should be possible to indicate how many sessions may be needed. |
