Ian Boyd is a CBTcounsellor and has been supporting people with mental health issues in the community for a number of years. He has also been a Shiatsu practitioner for 18 years. Much of his career has also been helping people enjoy and gain the benefits of being and working in the outdoors. He knows the physical and mental improvements that can be achieved and he is now concentrating on helping with mental health difficulties. Ian is a Forest School Leader and sees the outdoors as a therapeutic space for learning and relaxing. Ian is also a fully qualified medical herbalist who qualified from the School of Phytotherapy in 2000. His interest in herbal medicine combines extremely well with his work with plants as a countryside ranger and his thriving practise as a shiatsu massage therapist. This combination of skills, training and experience gives Ian a unique ability to treat his clients.
Ian sees mental health as an increasingly important area, while the profile of mental health issues has also been raised in recent years. CBT has been well researched, and is seen as the treatment of choice for many mental health ailments. Secondly Ian is continuing to offer Shiatsu at Woodland Herbs and sees his range of expertise as added benefit to his clients. As Ian explains "people deserve all the opportunities to live happily and well. With practice and taking personal responsibility improvements can be achieved"
