 | Reflexology Reflexology works on the theory that there are area on your feet and hands which correspond to certain organs, glands and systems within the body, and are a 'mirror' of your body. By using thumb and finger pressure, the therapist assists the body in bringing about a balance, restoring circulation and eliminating toxins. From a more 'scientific' perspective the nerves from the hand and feet interact with nerves from throughout the body interact in the spine. Within reflexology the therapist is working on energy lines or 'meridians'. |
What to Expect The treatment is usually practiced on bare feet, with the client on a couch and fully clothed, which assists relaxation for mind and body. Reflexology assists many symptoms such as stress, sinustitis, backache, insomnia, fatigue, respiratory and digestive complaints, and is even used to help with concentration. Regular treatments are a good way to maintain your health and give yourself some valuable 'time out'. |
