Therapies for Animals
The use of complementary medicine for animals has a long history. Studies of tribes of monkeys have shown that the tribe possess a knowledge of over 20 different herbs that can be used for a range of conditions from cuts and scrapes to indigestion.
In the UK the vetinary surgeon is the only person legally allowed to treat an animal for a fee, although the owner can of course give their pet any treatment that they choose. Therefore tales of pets being legally sold to a practitioner, who can then treat their pets and then sell them back to the original owner are surprisingly common.
At Woodland Herbs we do not have a dedicated range of animal treatments however a number of herbs have traditional use in animals ranging from dogs and cats to horses. We also have Herbal Medicine for Dogs available in paperback from our website.
